A Typical Day at LOC:
7:30   Breakfast

Scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon/sausage, cinnamon rolls, cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruit.

 

8:45

 

Morning

Activity period begins and students are placed on teams that rotate through each activity during their stay. Spring and fall activities include team building initiatives, rock climbing, high ropes course, hiking, pond study, sensory activities, orienteering, canoeing, and sand dune ecology.

 
12:30  

Lunch

Homemade soups, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, fries, fresh fruit and bug juice.

 
1:45  

Afternoon

Activity begins – Our winter activities include snowshoeing, tracking, team building initiatives, cross country skiing, shelter building, and winter survival skills.

 
5:00  

Recreation time

In the fall and spring the staff engages the group in games appropriate for the weather. In the winter, our sledding hill provides the primary recreational time activity.

 
6:00  

Dinner

Roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans, salad bar, and cherry pie a la mode.

 
7:30  

Evening Program

Our evening activities include group games, campfires, night hikes, singing and storytelling, wildlife rehabilitation presentation, skits, astronomy, journaling, and an evening snack, followed by a debriefing of our day in front of the fireplace.
